Grantstown Community Village is still doing what we do best, caring for our cocooned residents in our sheltered houses and the local community.  Our Nurse and carer are starting an ‘exercise for fun’ session with the cocooned residents with them standing in their  doorways on Thursdays and a Zoom chat/craft/communications meeting with our residents that use the internet on Wednesday’s to help keep our residents safe and active physically & mentally.
Grantstown is continuing to Provide fresh nutritional 3 course meals on wheels, laundry, collecting shopping, pensions & prescriptions for any people cocooning or in need of assistance within our Community.
Although we cannot bring  our missed clients into the Day Care Centre at this time,  Lesley and her diligent team of volunteers are at the end of the phone  each day checking on all clients/guests in need of support, comfort and a warm friendly chat.
As this crisis unfolds Grantstown is as it has always been, here for all people who need assistance. We have signed up for the Community Support Helpline through County Wexford PPN and of you are feeling isolated at this time, please feel to contact us on 051561016 and remember you are not alone and we would love you to pick up the phone and give us a ring and we will offer assistance to you in any way we can.
Please stay home and stay safe, and together we will come through this to better days 🤗
A big Thank you to Niamh, Jane,Fiona and Jack for assisting us with delivering the meals on wheels to the ever increasing numbers of vulnerable elderly that are being cocooned at this time.  Also a special big thank you to local businesses that have donated produce to help the superb kitchen staff to continue making healthy nutritious meals, namely:  Bernie & Larry Whelan for supplying potatoes, Wallace’s Costcutters for supplying eggs & many other members of the Community offering support to the most vulnerable in our Community. All credit goes out to you.
